On Monday, my team and I had the privilege of touring the Mokena Fire Station #2, guided by the Mokena Fire Protection District Chief Joe Cirelli. During our tour, we were able to get an up-close look at the station’s facilities and equipment (including a beautiful old-school fire engine), learn about the expansive area they cover, and meet some of the brave firefighters who serve in our district.
A very special thank you to Chief Cirelli and his assistant, Kathy, for organizing such an incredible tour and for sharing insights into how I may help address some of the challenges fire protection districts in Illinois are facing. I am honored to be able to advocate on behalf of your district and all of our state’s first responders in Springfield.
