Today in Springfield, I joined law enforcement officers, surviving families, and community members from across Illinois to honor our fallen police officers.
As a police officer myself, this ceremony carries a deep meaning for me. We remember heroes who answered the call to serve and protect, knowing the risks that come with the badge. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to their communities will never be forgotten.
My prayers are with the families who carry that loss every single day, and with every officer continuing to serve on the front lines to keep our communities safe. May we always honor the legacy of our fallen officers and never take their sacrifice for granted.
