I am proud to announce that my bill, House Bill 1938, has passed the House tonight! This bill looks to empower our brave firefighters by amending the Decennial Committees on Local Government Efficiency Act, making it clear that fire protection districts are exempt from these committees.
Why does this matter? Firefighters work tirelessly to protect lives and property, often facing the most challenging and urgent circumstances. Their focus should remain where it belongs: saving lives, responding to emergencies, and serving their communities. It is crucial that we eliminate unnecessary and redundant paperwork that takes away from their valuable time and energy.
With HB1938, I’m looking to give firefighters back precious time to do what they do best: keeping our families and communities safe. This is a practical and commonsense measure that streamlines efficiency while ensuring public safety remains uncompromised.
We must support the dedicated men and women who serve in our fire protection districts. It’s time to stand up for those who always stand ready for us! Cheers!
