HOMER GLEN – State Representative Patrick Sheehan is encouraging students across the district to stay engaged and keep learning this summer through his 2026 “Super Readers” Summer Reading Program.
“As a father, I know how important it is to keep kids learning and growing during the summer months,” said Rep. Sheehan. “Reading opens doors for young people. One book can inspire creativity, build confidence, and spark a lifelong love of learning. I want students in our community to feel excited about picking up a book and discovering something new.”
The program is open to students entering Kindergarten through 6th grade and challenges participants to read 10 books over summer break. Students who complete the program will receive a personalized Certificate of Achievement from Rep. Sheehan.
Books over 150 pages may count as two books, and books completed through local library reading programs are also eligible. Students must submit their completed reading logs by Friday, August 14, 2026.
Reading logs can be submitted online through Rep. Sheehan’s website or dropped off at his district office located at 15746 S. Bell Rd. in Homer Glen.
Families with questions about the Summer Reading Program can contact Rep. Sheehan’s district office at (708) 694-2032.
Rep. Sheehan proudly serves the people of the 37th District.
