Sheehan pours cold water on Pritzker’s ICE Accountability Commission

In a first meeting held during the busy holiday season, Governor JB Pritzker’s “Illinois Accountability Commission” took aim at federal law enforcement officials in town to enforce federal laws which Governor Pritzker has refused to enforce on behalf of Illinois citizens.

“This first commission meeting was filed with anti-law enforcement rhetoric and represents yet another waste of taxpayer money, pursuing political goals instead of exposing truth,” said Sheehan, a suburban law enforcement officer himself. “This commission is not a court of law and has no mandate to honestly represent all sides of this issue.”

Sheehan said the Commission represents Governor Pritzker’s, “continued attacks on law enforcement” citing the SAFE-T Act as another example of Pritzker’s crusade against the rule of law and his failure to keep crime victims safe.

“With Law Enforcement Appreciation Day this week, I will be keeping all of our law enforcement officers, including federal law enforcement officials, in my prayers for their safety and for a softening of the rhetoric against them by their statewide elected officials,” said Sheehan.
