Yesterday, Governor Pritzker signed the FY26 Illinois State Budget, a budget built on temporary fixes—one-time revenue sweeps and nearly $1 billion in tax increases—that create the illusion of balance while setting Illinois up for financial instability in the years ahead.
The residents of Illinois deserve responsible budgeting that prioritizes relief, growth, and long-term stability instead of higher taxes and expanding bureaucracy. This plan does not reflect the priorities of working families and small businesses across our state.
I remain committed to solutions that strengthen communities, encourage investment, and secure a future where Illinois thrives for generations to come.
