Update on HB1634, the First Responder Qualified Wellness Expense Credit

Great news! This morning, HB1634 passed through the income tax sub-committee.

This bill introduces the First Responder Qualified Wellness Expense Credit, providing tax relief to those who serve and protect our communities. If enacted, first responders will be eligible for a tax credit of up to $250 annually to help cover the cost of health and wellness programs. I filed this bill because I want the heroes who support us every day to have access to resources like gym memberships, yoga classes, and self-defense training, promoting their overall physical and mental health.

We’re especially grateful for the bipartisan support that helped move this bill forward. It’s a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for the good of our communities. More updates to come as this bill progresses.

Stay tuned! Cheers!
