Staying Safe in Extreme Heat

It’s a hot one today in District 37! ☀

As you all experience the high temperatures across Illinois this week, I want to encourage you all to stay safe and cool. While you all get to enjoy the last bit of summer weather before fall comes around, make sure to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun if possible, and find a cool place to shelter.

If you can’t find cool shelter, please take advantage of the cooling centers in our district! Here are a few that might be close to you:

-Mokena Public Library (11327 West 195th St) — M-Thurs 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

-Lockport Township Building (1212 Farrell Rd.) M-F 8am-5pm

-Frankfort Township Office (11000 W. Lincoln Hwy) M-F 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

-Homer Glen Village Hall (14240 W. 151st St) M-F 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

-New Lenox Public Library (120 Veterans Pkwy) M-TH 10:00 AM-8:00 PM
